    I will begin by saying that I left this practice months ago!!! Although I was sad to leave the doctor that was caring for me I was left no choice but to do so bc of the front end of that office. There are 2 doctors on staff which are both GREAT! But in the 2-3 months that I was a patient there I have met 3 different receptionist. Each one worst than the other. They absolutely have no idea or clue what it means to be discreet and private with patient information and concerns. They would always bad mouth the patients they would talk to on the phone to their fellow coworkers and always have an attitude for basically having to do their job. Luckily for me I have been an office manager in several medical practices and also know about medical billing and coding and let me tell you that as a receptionist in a medical office setting there has to be some kind of knowledge of insurances, referrals, pre-certs, billing and even some coding and just overall MANNERS!!! With that being said the reason why I say that is bc EVERY time I had an appointment there I was constantly told different stories when it came to my insurance. One minute I needed a referral then the next I didn't. Then I needed a pre-cert, then I needed a prior authorization. I was completely taken back when I had to show the receptionist how to do HER JOB in trying to obtain the referral that insurance company said they can obtain online. When I had told her about this she said replied back by saying "Well I cant log in and dont even know how to change the password so call your insurance back and tell them to fax to me".... Im sorry but this is your job a receptionist! NOT MINE!!! It was always a problem and she never wanted to DO HER JOB AS A RECEPTIONIST TO OBTAIN THAT INFORMATION. Another issue I had was when the doctor prescribed me a medication that needed prior authorization. It took them 2 WEEKS to even start that process mind you I am a high risk patient and desperately needed that medication. After I had made a big stink to the doctors about this the receptionist calls me back to tell me that yet AGAIN I had to call my insurance to obtain that prior authorization. UNACCEPTABLE !!!!! I had reached my limit with this lady and decided to go directly to the doctor in which she had ended up handling the situation herself and got the job done in half a day!!!! I have a serious medical condition and couldn't risk only my life but also the life of my unborn baby so I decided to go to another practice. When I called them to have my medical records released the receptionist had the nerve to call me back and pretty much argue with me and make me feel as if I was the problem here. She was just rude and relentless!!! She has no manners and no concept on how to be a people person. After all was said and done she spitefully only sent over 2 pages of my medical records and was being very rude and uncooperative with the staff at my new practice. I ultimately ended up going over there in person to obtain the rest of medical records in which she still was giving me attitude about and saying "WELL I SENT IT OVER BUT WHATEVER HERES YOUR COPY" and just rudely slammed the envelope on the desk. I would advise the doctors to really look into who they decide to hire bc being pregnant is supposed to be a happy time in a woman's life and having a rude, disrespectful and uneducated receptionist to deal with when you walk into the office just ruins your attitude and joy of going thru this process for 9 months. My reason for writing about this months later is bc they also sent all my blood work to wrong place therefore I was sent 4 bills totaling in thousands of dollars in which I also had to get fixed on my own. The staff just has no knowledge on how to bill out to the proper labs and even insurance companies in which you as the patient ultimately ends up getting screwed. Its just sad bc again the doctors are GREAT but the staff just absolutely clueless and rude!
